Doctor Don Swerida was a unique character, well known throughout the state for his mobile veterinary services. Sadly, he passed away July of 2017, leaving his 30+ parrots with a designated guardian. Unfortunately, when faced with the responsibility of dozens of parrots there's no "room" for a personal crisis and that's where this story unfolds.
In late June, Birds of Paradise hosted a group parrot toy making event with a lovely team from local Apple Stores. I was invited to attend and naturally jumped at the opportunity.
